working method
I listen and ask questions.
What makes your research unique? What is the essence of your research topic?
What are the results?
But also: who are you as a researcher?
Are there images you like or specific layouts that appeal to you? I take all of your preferences into account when creating the first draft proposal. During the process, we will have multiple consultations to ensure that the result is collaborative. In this way, we will really work together to create a beautiful document. I will take the worry off your hands in this unfamiliar but also very fun process.
practical
The requirements and structure of a dissertation are of course familiar to me and I am aware of the practical matters such as related theses, invitation, isbn number, timeline, etc. There is a range of printing techniques and paper types available and these choices can add to the eloquence of a design. In the end, I will make sure it gets to the right printer and delivered to you on time. Before we begin, I will create a schedule detailing all the steps up to the date you want the booklets available.
costs
The cost depends on your requirements, but the size and number of tables and charts can also affect cost. If you would like to discuss costs, give me a call!
response from a PhD student -november 2022-
“From the first contact, to the shaping to the moment I opened the boxes of printed books, Maaike has shown that she is firmly in control of the whole process surrounding the creation of a dissertation. She connects in a very personal way, allowing a lot of leeway with cover and content design. In doing so, she also actively contributes options on the very points that you yourself, as a PhD student, have no idea about at all.
Maaike is creatively strong and managed to capture the subject of my dissertation beautifully, I have had many compliments on both cover and content design. Whereas the process initially drags on for a while, as the moment of printing approaches, the turnover rate of revisions and major and minor decisions increases enormously, which can be quite overwhelming. Maaike clearly takes the lead in this, keeps the planning on track and ensures that everything is managed at a high pace. Many thanks for the fine cooperation!”
